The Ink Well Fiction Prompt #108 | Two Hearts
Why is there a parade during the fiesta of town in the Philippines? Is it worth it to experience or just a waste of time?
BRIEF FIESTA EXPLANATION:
A “FIESTA” is a religious festival in the Philippines. It is celebrated once a year and it is the biggest celebration Filipinos have. This is not just about religious matters but also about culture and tradition.
While the locals are still busy accommodating their visitors or might be sleeping because of night ‘till evening fun; The drums roll as the trumpet sings. It’s so loud that it’s like someone’s eardrum will burst. Obviously, no one can ignore the noise the instruments create. In that case, people would now gather at the street, waiting for the parade to pass by.
Twirlers will now surprise the townsfolk through their grove and beauties. Biggest and sweetest smiles can be seen as well while performing the graceful dance. It sure becomes jolly at the street, from the parade and from the bystanders gathered beside the street.
One of the main reasons why there is a parade is pretty obvious. To sound the town that is celebrating fiesta and to inform the people of a presentation in a certain place. Well, the government employees who join the parades are just for formalities - including the students and teachers, maybe just to look at the parade longer.
So if there’s a sound of drums or different instruments. It’s pretty obvious now what that noise is all about. A parade because it's the fiesta of the town and there will be awaited varieties, like dancing, singing and gathering at the end of the parade. This is a once a year activity and that makes this kind of celebration awesome. Not to mention, a lot of people will come, though it's crowded, well, that makes this festival worthwhile.
